Amateur Radio Current Events

We will be doing our second on the ship event for the Boy Scouts of America Birthday. The Birthday of Scouting is in February but it is a little chilly on the ship in February. The Massasoit Amateur Radio Association and other area clubs will be serving as Radiomen (operators) on the ship from 0900EST to 1600EST we hope to have 6 stations on the air for this event on 2M, 10M, 20M, 40M, and CW on 80M using the ships original equipment for 80M.

Museum Ships on the Air special event taking place June 3rd and 4th (utc time). Rick has 12 operators so far and plans to run radio operations on the USS Massachusetts starting Friday June 2nd at 8pm (which is June3rd 0:00 utc) through Sunday at 4pm local time so everyone can be off the ship by 6pm. Rick plans for 3 stations and possibly a go-kit setup outside on the ships deck weather permitting. Food (sandwiches) and water are being donated.

MARA club will setup a table featuring amateur radio communications at the Harvest Fest on the Soule Homestead Education Center (100 acre farm, family 4H activities, etc.) in Middleborough taking place Saturday & Sunday September 16th-17th
